Kenneth Markley

I am a fully insured and certified Comprehensive Family Mediator (Family Mediation Canada ) as well as a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst. My Family Mediation practice has been primarily comprised of Separation and Divorce as well as Child Protection mediating.

I am accepting divorce mediation work at this time and welcome inquiry calls. I am doing my mediation work online and I am available to mediate throughout British Columbia.

I am a listed on the child protection roster of Mediate BC . I have been a provider of family services since 1972. Over my career, I have served as a Child Protection Social Worker, Family Counsellor, Community Youth Worker, Child Care Worker and Adolescent Addictions Counsellor. I have conducted over 400 mediations and family conferences for the BC Ministry of Children and Family Development.

I graduated with distinction from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Child and Youth Care. My post-graduate work includes a Masters Degree in Adult Education from the University of British Columbia and a Certificate in Family Mediation from the Justice Institute of British Columbia. I am an active faculty member of the Centre for Conflict Resolution at the Justice Institute of British Columbia. I am currently a Certifed Divorce Financial Analyst.

I have consulted and trained child care workers, special education teaching assistants, family counsellors and social workers throughout BC in family dynamics and conflict resolution. I have presented at international conferences regarding successful innovations in family group conferencing.

I have been active in recent years with many British Columbia First Nations coaching and teaching negotiation and conflict resolution.

I have been active as a community volunteer in a number of roles. I have served on the Board of Directors for the Julien Society which operates ‘Westminster House ‘ – a residential treatment facility for women in addiction. I also served two terms on the Social Services Committee of the City of New Westminster BC.

I am now permanently residing on the Sunshine Coast of BC with my wife of fifty-one years, Sandra. We have three adult children and five grandchildren.
